Some women have mid-cycle pain or bloating when they ovulate, but did you know about the following symptoms that may occur at this time?
1. Achy joints – prostaglandin, a hormone that is released around ovulation time can cause inflammation and joint aches
2. Your partner may find you more attractive! – the extra oestrogen with ovulation can lead to fuller lips, plumper cheeks, brighter eyes and smoother skin
3. Moodiness – this is classical for pre-menstrual symptoms, but can also occur around ovulation
4. Increased sex drive – many studies have shown increased libido around the time of ovulation. This is nature’s way of encouraging procreation!
5. Increased grooming – a study showed that during ovulation women spend more time grooming and selecting clothes!
6. Voices can get a little higher – there is evidence that the closer to ovulation, the higher the pitch of voice.
7. Increased sense of smell – a study showed increased sensitivity in women to the scents they were given to smell, compared to those that were not ovulating
