PreMenstrual Symptoms - There Is A Lot We Can Do!
PreMenstrual Syndrome is characterised by distressing physical, behavioural and psychological symptoms that regularly occur in the days before a period (or even from mid cycle) and ease off or settle by the time the period has finished. It is estimated that around 30 percent of women suffer from moderate to severe Pre-Menstrual Syndrome (PMS) and around 5 to 8 percent with a severe form of PMS – PreMenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD).
PMS symptoms can occur from teens/20s onwards but may also start for the time around the perimenopause as a result of hormonal changes and other factors.
